PosiStop - a practical solution
|
PosiStop is a low-cost system for the fast and consistent positive location of billets in lathe chuck jaws. Available in heights of l5, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 mm, PosiStop is suitable for jaws up to 55 mm wide and offers fast and accurate workpiece location every time. Designed to suit the most popular chuck sizes, PosiStop is a cost-effective device that will instantly improve machine shop productivity.
A simple but effective concept and the units are designed to quickly slip onto the chuck to provide a positive location for raw material, which can be sawn billets, castings, forgings or even partly machined components, to be loaded against.
Securely located onto the chuck face with three permanent magnets fitted to the PosiStop, the precision extrusion provides a flexible alternative to both the practice of machining location faces in chuck jaws, as well as the cost and inconvenience of using home-made 'spiders'. The contact surfaces against the workpiece and the chuck are face precision ground to ensure optimum parallelism. Manufactured from aerospace grade aluminium PosiStop adds very little weight to the chuck, keeping any centrifugal forces to a minimum.
The units are priced very competitively and most machine shops would achieve an ROI (Return on Investment) the very first time they use the PosiStop.

PUSH PAST THE PRODUCTIVITY LIMIT
If you are already pushing your machining centre to its maximum limits and the work is still queuing up there is a cost-effective alternative to the capital outlay required to purchase another machine. The IRAM 2000 Module System patented modular vices for vertical and horizontal machining centres.
Many hours of lost production time on any CNC machining centre can be attributed to the loading and unloading of raw material and finished parts. Using the IRAM modular system increases the density of the raw material on the work table or pallet, so that the tool spends more time cutting and less time waiting for material. This improves productivity levels dramatically for a very small investment.
Both the Vertical Vice and Cube feature fixed and movable jaws which allows two components to be clamped in a single action. Providing precision datum points for easier programming, the fixed jaws have a repeatable accuracy of +/- 0.02 mm and a maximum holding force of 20,000 N can be achieved to secure the parts.
