A vice of some virtue unveiled
|
At the recent TIMTOS 2013 exhibition Autogrip Machinery unveiled the largest power chuck the company has ever produced.
Demonstrating Autogrip’s capability, this particularly large 1,600mm diameter 3-jaw power chuck has been designed and manufactured for a renowned VTL (vertical turning lathe) machine tool builder. The end customer supports the aerospace and oil/gas/petrochemical industries.
However, to produce the chuck Autogrip had to invest in a specially built very large grinding machine with 2,000 diameter by 300 mm capacity. It features four separate grinding heads, one each dedicated to inside, outside, surface and slot grinding.

AMCC is a world leader in the development of advanced technology for plate freezing small and delicate components for micro machining. Ongoing research and engineering development has seen the company expand its product range with the new GFR series.
This impressive and unusual technology uses a film of ice to firmly secure parts for grinding, milling and turning operations. As most components that require traditional micro machining operations are very fragile they are therefore susceptible to damage. AMCC has answered this challenge with an innovative solution that is quick and easy to use.
