To support the steady flow of new products from its principals as well as its own expanding fixturing portfolio, Tamworth-based Leader Chuck Systems has recently appointed two new Technical Sales Engineers. Chris Watson will represent the specialist workholding company in the South East of England while Shaun Fairclough will cover the North East.

Between them Chris Watson and Shaun Fairclough have over 40 years engineering experience. Chris started his career in an engineering toolroom while Shaun served his apprenticeship with TS Harrison in Heckmondwike. Before starting their own company, CS Technics, they had previously worked together at the Milton Keynes-based bar feed manufacturer, Hydrafeed. This strong background in an innovative engineering company producing equipment for the CNC turning sector, along with their other hands-on experience, will provide a stable pool of knowledge from which they can draw solutions for Leader’s existing and potential new customers.

Having completed initial product training with Leader, Chris Watson and Shaun Fairclough are looking forward to supporting existing customers within their geographic areas as well as developing new business opportunities. Shaun Fairclough will cover Cleveland, Durham, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, North, East, and South and West Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. He says: “The Leader Chuck product range has an excellent reputation. I am looking forward to introducing it into the production engineering, medical, aerospace and automotive companies I know.”

Chris Watson is responsible for customers based in Kent, Essex, Middlesex, Surrey, East and West Sussex as well as Greater London. “Leader has an enviable reputation in the market, in terms of the quality of the products and the high levels of professional service applied to each and every customer,” he states. “Greater access to these high quality workholding solutions to can only be good for the manufacturers based in the South East corner of the UK.”

Mark Jones, Leader Chuck Systems’ managing director, says: “The driver for this expansion is two-fold. The first is an increase in new products, which means that we have even more productive options for manufacturing companies facing fixturing/workholding issues. These issues could come from the complexity of the component being held or they may be the result of increased efficiency demands. The second is the improved service levels customers get by having our experienced staff effectively on their doorstep.”
